Ghost stories
I used to own a three bedroom tract house. No history as it was built
in 1974. When my husband and I separated I began hearing keys jingling.
I would get up and nothing was there. The next morning my daughter asked
what was the key jingling all about.
A man began to appear in my doorway, he would just lean against the
doorpost then disappear. I wasn't scared, just irritated that he
wouldn't leave and he would always wake me up. I began locking my
bedroom door but, in the middle of the night there he would be with the
door wide open.
One evening my daughter had two friends over watching videos. One of
her friends looked down the hall and asked, "Who's that guy standing
there”, then her friend jumped up and said “Hey ,he just disappeared!"
Her friend later told me he wasn't coming over anymore because the ghost
freaked him out.
My dad is a devote Christian and came over praying for the house. The
same night I woke up and shouted "He's here". I ran to the window and
the man was sitting in my car, he looked very mad. The next week I was
cleaning out the storage part of our corner set when the lid slammed
down on my arm. I was unable to lift the lid though I tried with all my
might. The kids came running and tried to lift it to no avail. It
finally let go and I was bruised for two weeks. The man came more often
after that, shouting my mothers name and hovering over me and my oldest
daughter.
I had to pray for peace to surround me. He disappeared after that. I
moved to a new house (not because of the haunting, just a better house).
My daughter was three months pregnant and we were all looking forward to
having a baby in the house. The night before her first ultrasound I was
awakened by an elderly man standing by the bed. Where he was standing
was on the wrong side of me, there was abed there, not bedside floor
area. He didn't speak, just communicated that there had been a death.
Someone was dead and did I understand. I kept telling him, “Yes I
understand“. He told me to repeat what he had communicated. I repeated
out loud,"Someone has died, I understand what you're saying." He nodded
his head and left. He walked to a place outdoors where there was a BBQ
going on (not my yard). Sounds like a dream right? Well., we went to the
doctor and I had forgotten about the man. The doctor was unable to
detect a heart beat in the baby after several tests the baby was
determined to be deceased.
Something else
I believe that spirits can inhabit any place that we can inhabit, any type of building and even vehicles. They can also cling to regular every day items. I do believe that some spirits are stuck in certain places and can't travel, although I'm not really sure why they become trapped. But, many other spirits can move from place to place.
Some people have had a perfectly peaceful home and then suddenly began to see spirits, ghosts or demons. If this is the case with you and you're wondering why they've all of a sudden started appearing, there could be several answers.
First..........
Have you recently gotten something different? A couch, chair, table, vase, picture, was anything brought into the home right before you started having problems? While even brand new items can sometimes carry entities with them, I wouldn't imagine it's very common.
Older items are generally what can bring something into your home. Antiques can be especially bad since they've been around so long and sometimes had many owners. It can be anything, even a vase that was a favorite of a spirit that can't seem to cross over! In a case like this, often getting rid of the item will usually get rid of the spirit.
My parents once bought a used mattress, right from the beginning, my father would see a little old lady standing at the foot of the bed every night. While she didn't really pose any threat, I guess my father wasn't to crazy about a little old woman watching him sleep! They burned the mattress and he never saw her again.
Second..........
A best friend or a relative can be an unsuspecting carrier of something supernatural. They may have never seen anything, felt anything and usually don't have the slightest clue that something has attached itself to them. The majority of the time, it has nothing to do with the person and the person wouldn't harm you in any way.
They could have been somewhere and for some reason a entity just decided to go along with them when they left. And, for some other unknown reason, the entity decided it liked your home and decided to stay with you when you friend or relative left!
In the same way, you could have picked up a spirit somewhere and it's used you for a "taxi" into your home.
Thirdly..........
The worst scenario of all, you've really pissed someone off that has some power and they've unleashed something on you to torment or even harm you. This is the worst possible way for something to suddenly start. Why? Well, because if they have enough power to send something after you, you're going to need more power than they have to get rid of it.
I'm not in anyway saying that all sudden haunting's are caused by only these 3 reasons. Often, a spirit has occupied a place all along, either it's just not wished to show itself or you've just not been open to see it.
I also believe that sometimes some event in your life may just simply bring the spirit to "life". A quite spirit might for instance start showing itself after a tragedy such as a death in the family or other bad event.
What I am saying is that if you've suddenly started having problems with a supernatural entity, those 3 places are the best place to start looking for an answer. And, if you're lucky, it's something as simple as a new "used" item you just got for your home!

It's really great to hear some genuine stories here,and we hope that more people will share with us, too.
A couple of things that have struck us about your story - one is how the ghost in your first 'haunted' house appeared to express some real ownership about the house itself and to resent your presence there.
And its hard not to wonder if there was something about your experiences in the previous house that 'sensitised' you in some way, making you more likely to hear that later message, whatever it was, a voice from somewhere else, or your own sensitivity, expressed in an extraordinary way.
